eBay wanted to promote themselves as a Australia’s go-to tech retailer - however they were still strongly associated with second-hand auctions instead of their partnerships with the biggest technology brands.
In only a three week turn around - Razorfish showed eBay's credentials in the tech space using the most 'buzz-worthy' technology of the moment - giving Sydneysiders a playful and memorable way to surprise and reward their friends with a new piece of technology via a delivery drone!
Oh, and the pun was good too...
The campaign centred around a Facebook app where people could provide details about the friend they wished to nominate and select a gift they'd like to surprise them with. Once the best entries were selected, we planned our surprises with a specialist drone operator and recorded the reactions for social video series.
